The Lee County Library, which is governed by an appointed Library Board of Trustees, is responsible for operating the county libraries. Currently, the county has a main library (Oakland Library), two branches (Leesburg Library and Redbone Library) and one service outlet (Smithville Library). The Lee County Library has a collection of 91,963 items. Lee County Library is a member of PINES, the statewide library card network.
The Board of Commissioners provides this organization with the Oakland,Leesburg, and Redbone facilities along with funds for operating and capital outlay expenses. The Lee County Library Board of Trustees meets at 6:00 pm in the Kalah Hardy Room of the Leesburg Library on the second Monday in February, May, August, and November.
